Biography
Georgia Zavos is an associate attorney whose practice focuses on tax and estate planning. She advises clients on sophisticated wealth transfer strategies, estate and gift taxation, and the administration of trusts and estates, with particular experience in planning matters that involve complex international tax considerations. Her practice combines rigorous technical knowledge with a client-centered approach, helping individuals and families preserve wealth and achieve their personal and financial goals across generations.
Ms. Zavos earned her LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law, where she pursued concentrations in Estate Planning/High Net Worth Representation and International Tax. Her achievements earned her an academic scholarship. She distinguished herself in advanced coursework in corporate and partnership taxation, federal wealth transfer taxation, property transactions, federal tax procedure, international inbound and outbound taxation, income taxation of trusts and estates, the taxation of charitable organizations, estate planning, representing high net worth individuals, and international taxation in Europe and Latin America.
She earned her J.D. from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she obtained certificates in Intercultural Human Rights and Intellectual Property, was a merit scholarship recipient, and was a Dean’s List honoree. While completing her legal studies, Ms. Zavos engaged in meaningful pro bono service with Florida’s Children First and The Florida Immigrant Coalition. In these roles, she conducted complex statutory and case law research, drafted litigation documents and advocacy templates, and worked alongside licensed attorneys to protect vulnerable populations. These experiences strengthened her skills in legal analysis and advocacy while underscoring her commitment to public service.
Before law school, Ms. Zavos graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Archaeology and minors in Classical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Music. While attending GWU, Ms. Zavos received a Presidential Academic Scholarship, and was a Dean’s List honoree. She served as president of the Hellenic Student Association, where she organized large-scale cultural and academic events, coordinated fundraising efforts, and built partnerships with international organizations and community leaders.
Fluent in Greek and having lived and studied abroad in both Europe and the Middle East, Ms. Zavos brings a global perspective and a high degree of cultural fluency to her representation of international clients. This background uniquely positions her to advise clients with cross-border assets and planning needs.
Ms. Zavos is admitted to The Florida Bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C. She is dedicated to providing thoughtful, detail-oriented, and comprehensive counsel.
